Polo dress

Classic & preppy. This 'polo dress' is on my wishlist for this spring/summer. I really like this 'hot' pink color but a dark marine blue is also perfect for different occasions. I could easily wear these dresses to work (because they're long enough), on holiday or when going shopping.
What color would you like? There are too many to choose from! Buy them here.

Forest Chair (I know, something totally different)

When I was in The Hague visiting a museum in Schevingen and shopping with my mommy and aunt, we came accros this 'brand' in a store. And I fell in love imediately with these forest inspired furniture and interior-accessories. A bit (well, much) above my budget but so(!) pretty! It would look good in different interiors, from something really classic to a more modern loft. This collection is called 'The Forest Leaf Collection' and the artist got it's inspiration from different textures around the world.
Here's what Michael Aram, the American artist/designer says about the collection; "I believe everybody has an emotional response when they see natural objects. They are part of all of us. I imagine coming across this chair in the middle of the forest, growing right out of the ground, perhaps a bird or a leaf resting on it. It has such a strong sense of the natural world but for me."

The special thing about these items is that they are actually natural twigs casted in polished aluminum.

How to wrap your gift like a pro...

This may seem a strange subject for a blogpost right now (you know, after all the holidays) but since it is one of my goals to learn 'how to perfectly wrap a gift', I thought it would be fun to share what I've found out (and came accros on the world wide web:-).

First of all, it's obvious there are a few things you need to wrap your gift beautifully:
- the gift (never forget the present itself...);
- gift wrapping paper, but you can also use newspapers, fabric or wallpaper. Anything beautiful (that you can fold) will be perfect;
- ribbon that matches your paper and other accessories (ornaments to match the gift- or holiday theme);
- scissors;
- scotch tape, or double-sided tape is even better!

Offcourse the gift should be super awesome to avoid dissapointment after anyone opened up your carefully and beautiful created packaging. But other than that, a beautiful package is already a really nice gesture and makes someone feel special.
If you want to impress someone you should make sure the wrapping paper matches the gift or (even better) the personality of the person who receives the gift. There are, for example, amazing giftpaper-books with themes like 1920's fashion, floral prints, art deco or even persian designs. But an old ground plan or anything ecological would be nice as well.
Make sure to pack strangely formed objects in a box to make it easier to gift-wrap it. Or try the packing way from the video below, that looks really beautiful as well and is not too complicated.

These two videos show the most basic ways to wrap your gift.

And this one shows how to wrap a gift that doesn't come in a square box (any different shape).

So, here's everything you'll need. Good luck!

Inspired by Rosie Pope

          Jummy Mummy
Finally, 'Pregnant in Heels' is broadcasted in The Netherlands. I have already seen both seasons (obviously, check out this blogpost and this one). But still, Rosie Pope is very cute to watch, she's polite, stylish and funny. Besides that, she's a great entrepreneur and very creative which makes her a inspiring personality. So, i'm definately not pregnant but thought it would be fun to do a maternity-wardrobe post inspired by this tv-show.

Summer Items

Nymphéas by Claude Monet

Prachtig!

Claude Monet was a founder of French impressionist painting, and one of my favorite painters. His work consists of a variety of landscapes, from the Dutch nature and flowers to his favorite subject; the pond. The 'Nympheas' series are paintings I really love.

Come on Spring!

Freezing cold outside maar met alle nieuwe collecties in de winkels (en omdat ik sowieso niet van kou houd) kan ik niet wachten tot het lente is. Lente, nieuwe kleding, fijne temperaturen en vooral langer licht..
